History
One fateful day in 2008, two competing wedding planners, Leticia & Eileen had a grand idea over a cup of coffee. To strengthen an industry that they loved, to provide a platform where wedding vendors could unite under one umbrella to elevate the industry and provide couples with an objective and trustworthy platform. Together, they roped in like-minded wedding industry pioneers and The Association of Wedding Professionals was born on 3 November 2009.
United, AWP has traveled the world to promote Malaysia as a wedding destination, collaborated with media agencies, NGOs and brands to highlight member’s achievements and services. AWP has also organized countless workshops, B2B and B2C sessions to educate couples and vendors. During the pandemic, AWP was at the forefront in liaison with various government agencies sharing the plight of SME, MSMEs and appealing for aid. AWP has also been featured in most media agencies as a thought-leader in the industry in support of sustainable transformation, CSR and the less fortunate.
AWP will continue to be a legacy for the future of wedding industry.
