Active Reset & Wellness: Highlights from AWP Members’ Day at Takun Retreat Club

In an industry that constantly asks us to run on high gear, taking a collective breath is everything. As wedding professionals, our work revolves around creating unforgettable, high-energy celebrations for our clients. But before diving headfirst into our upcoming peak wedding season, our AWP Malaysia community gathered for an active, restorative reset at Takun Retreat Club.

Because taking care of ourselves is the very first step to taking care of the couples and clients who trust us with their biggest moments. 🤍

Active Court Games: Pickleball & Tennis

The afternoon kicked off with high-energy sports and friendly competition, giving our members and guests a chance to move, laugh, and connect outside of event timelines.

  • Pickleball Tournament: A massive thank you to David Low (@davidlow71) and Wedding Club Pickleball for organizing a fun, energetic mini-tournament. Congratulations to our Champion team, who brought home medals generously sponsored by Studio71 (@studio_71)!

  • Beginner Tennis Clinic: Special gratitude to TK Teo (@tkteo) for creating a warm, encouraging, and patient clinic for members picking up a racquet for the first time.

Even nature worked in our favor! A refreshing afternoon shower cleared right at 4:00 PM, washing away the haze and leaving behind crisp air and cool breezes just in time for our outdoor games.

Contrast Therapy & Sanctuary Wellness

Beyond the courts, Takun Retreat Club (@takunretreatclub) welcomed our community into their serene sanctuary to experience Malaysia’s very first Thunder Spa—a signature warm magnesium recovery pool paired with relaxing tropical storm sounds.

Members spent the afternoon unwinding with contrast therapy, moving between the warm recovery pool, cold plunge, sauna, and full suite of wellness facilities—a much-needed physical reset for creatives who spend long hours on their feet.

Food, Celebrations & Seamless Execution

An afternoon of active play and relaxation was made complete by generous partners who kept our spirits high and our appetites satisfied:

  • Delicious Refreshments: La Casa Catering and Event Services (@lacasa.kl) provided a wonderful refreshment spread and exceptional hospitality that our members thoroughly enjoyed.

  • Sweet Moments: Ariana (@arianaraisyasugarart) crafted a stunning, delicious cake that added a sweet finishing touch to our gathering.

  • Emcee & Sound: Jit Woo (@jitwoomc) kept the energy flowing as our master of ceremonies, supported by Billy (@twosoundguys) for sound system logistics.

  • Capturing the Vibe: Photographer Manson Lim (@mansonphoto_) worked his magic behind the camera capturing every laugh and highlight, while Ken Chan Production (@kenchan_production) documented the day’s official highlight reel.
